22 - 1As ghow David gys y Chiarn goan yn arrane-moyllee shoh, er y laa va'n Chiarn er livrey eh ass laue ooilley e noidyn, as veih laue Saul. And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
-
22 - 2As dooyrt eh, Yn Chiarn my chreg, my hoor lajer; as my er-livreyee;And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
-
22 - 3Jee my chreg; ersyn ver-ym my varrant: eshyn my skaa, as niart my haualtys, my hoor ard, as my chemmyrk, my haualtagh; t'ou sauail mee veih tranlaasee. The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
-
22 - 4Neem's geamagh er y Chiarn, ta feeu dy ve er ny voylley: myr shen bee'm sauchey veih my noidyn.I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
-
22 - 5Tra haink tonnyn y vaaish mygeayrt-y-moom, ren thooillaghyn deiney mee-chrauee m'y agglaghey;When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;
-
22 - 6Haink pianyn niurin mygeayrt-y-moom; va ribbaghyn y vaaish kiongoyrt rhym.The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;
-
22 - 7Ayns my heaghyn deie mee gys y Chiarn, as ren mee my accan gys my Yee; as cheayll eh my choraa veih e hiamble, as hie m'accan stiagh gys e chleayshyn. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
-
22 - 8Eisht va'n thalloo er ny ghleashagh, as ren eh craa; ren undinyn niau scughey, as v'ad er-creau, ec e yymmoose. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.
-
22 - 9Hie jaagh seose veih e enish, as aile stroialtagh voish e eddin: va smarageyn er nyn voadey lesh. There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.
-
22 - 10Chroym eh ny niaughyn neesht, as haink eh neose; as fo e chassyn va dorraghys. He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.
-
22 - 11As er cherub varkee eh, as ren eh getlagh: as er skianyn y gheayee v'eh er ny akin. And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.
-
22 - 12As ren eh dorraghys e chabbane-reeoil mygeayrt-y-mysh, ushtaghyn dorraghey, as bodjallyn chiu yn aer.And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.
-
22 - 13Trooid y sollyssid hie roish va smarageyn aile er n'oaddey.Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.
-
22 - 14Hug y Chiarn taarnagh veih niau, as ren y fer-syrjey coyrt magh e choraa. The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.
-
22 - 15As lhig eh magh e hideyn, as skeayl eh ad; as tendreil, dy choyrt ad bun-ry-skyn.And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.
-
22 - 16As va lhiabbaghyn yn aarkey er nyn vakin, as haink undinyn y theihll rish, ec oghsan y Chiarn, ec blest ennal e yymmoose. And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.
-
22 - 17Hug eh cooney veih'n yrjid, ren eh m'y ghoaill; hayrn eh mee ass ymmodee ushtaghyn;He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;
-
22 - 18Livrey eh mee veih my noid niartal, as vouesyn va dwoaie oc orrym: son v'ad ro lajer er my hon.He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.
-
22 - 19Haink ad orrym gyn-yss ayns laa my heaghyn: agh va'n Chiarn my chemmyrk. They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.
-
22 - 20Hug eh lesh mee magh neesht gys boayl dy reamys; livrey eh mee, son dy row taitnys echey aynym. He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.
-
22 - 21Ren y Chiarn m'y chooilleeney lurg my ynrickys; cordail rish glennid my laueyn t'eh er my chooilleeney. The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.
-
22 - 22Son ta mee er vreayll raaidyn y Chiarn, as cha vel mee dy mee-chrauee er hreigeil my Yee.For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
-
22 - 23Son va ooilley e leighyn kiongoyrt rhym: as son e lattyssyn, cha hyndaa mee voue. For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.
-
22 - 24Va mee myrgeddin ynrick kiongoyrt rish, as hug mee cooyl rish my olkys hene.I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.
-
22 - 25Shen-y-fa ta'n Chiarn er m'y chooilleeney lurg my ynrickys; cordail rish my ghlennid ayns shilley e hooillyn. Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
-
22 - 26Da'n dooinney myghinagh nee oo soilshaghey oo-hene myghinagh, as da'n dooinney ynrick nee oo soilshaghey oo-hene ynrick. With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.
-
22 - 27Dasyn ta glen nee oo soilshaghey oo-hene glen, as noi'n roonagh soilshee oo dty roon. With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.
-
22 - 28As yn vooinjer seaghnit nee oo sauail: agh ta dty hooillyn er ny mooaralee, dy injillaghey ad.And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.
-
22 - 29Son she uss my chainle, O Hiarn; as chyndaaee'n Chiarn my ghorraghys gys soilshey. For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.
-
22 - 30Son liort's ta mee er vrishey trooid sheshaght dy gheiney-caggee: liorish my Yee ta mee er lheim harrish voalley. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.
-
22 - 31Er son Jee, ta e raad ynrick: ta goo'n Chiarn er ny phrowal: t'eh myr eilley-caggee dauesyn ooilley ta treishteil ayn.As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.
-
22 - 32Son quoi ta'n Jee, agh y Chiarn? as quoi ta'n chreg, agh y Jee ainyn? For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?
-
22 - 33Ta jee my niart, as my phooar: as t'eh jannoo my raad jeeragh.God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.
-
22 - 34T'eh jannoo my chassyn myr cassyn feeaih; as soiaghey mee er m'ynnydyn ardey. He maketh my feet like hinds' feet: and setteth me upon my high places.
-
22 - 35T'eh gynsaghey my laueyn dy chaggey; myr shen dy vel bow steillyn er ny vrishey liorish my roihaghyn. He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.
-
22 - 36T'ou myrgeddin er choyrt dou scape dty haualtys; as ta dty chenjallys ghraihagh er my hoiaghey seose.Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.
-
22 - 37T'ou er choyrt reamys da my chesmadyn; myrshen nagh ren my chassyn skyrraghtyn.Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.
-
22 - 38Ta mee er n'eiyrt er my noidyn, as er stroie ad; chamoo hyndaa mee reesht derrey va mee er stroie ad.I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.
-
22 - 39As ta mee er stroie ad, as er lhottey ad, nagh voddagh ad girree: dy feer, t'ad er duittym fo my chassyn. And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.
-
22 - 40Son t'ou er my choamrey lesh niart son y chaggey: adsyn dirree seose m'oi t'ou er vroo fo my-chassyn.For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.
-
22 - 41T'ou er choyrt dou myrgeddin mwannallyn my noidyn, dy voddin stroie adsyn ta dwoaie ec orrymThou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.
-
22 - 42Yeeagh ad; agh cha row fer dy hauail; eer gys y Chiarn, agh cha dug eh clashtyn daue. They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.
-
22 - 43Eisht cha myn as joan y thallooin ren mee ad y woalley; myr laagh ny straidyn ren mee ad y stampey, as skeayley ad dy lhean. Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.
-
22 - 44Veih anvea my phobble t'ou myrgeddin er my livrey, t'ou er my reayll dy ve kione ny ashoonyn: nee pobble nagh nione dou mish y hirveish.Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.
-
22 - 45Nee joarreeyn ginjillaghey ad-hene hym: cha leah's chlinnys ad, ver ad biallys dou.Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.
-
22 - 46Nee joarreeyn lheie ersooyl, as bee ad agglagh ayns ny ynnydyn follit oc.Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.
-
22 - 47Ta'n Chiarn bio; as bannit dy row my chreg, as ard-voylley dy row er ny choyrt da Jee, creg my haualtys. The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
-
22 - 48She Jee ta goaill cooilleeney dou, as ta coyrt y pobble sheese foym,It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.
-
22 - 49As ta livrey mee veih my noidyn: t'ou myrgeddin er my hroggal seose dy ard er nyn skyn dirree seose m'oi: t'ou er my livrey veih'n dooinney tranlaasagh. And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.
-
22 - 50Son yn oyr shoh, ver-yms booise dhyt, O Hiarn, mastey ny ashoonee, as goym arraneyn-moyllee gys dt'ennym. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.
-
22 - 51Eshyn yn toor dy haualtys son e ree; as t'eh soilshaghey myghin da e er-ooilit, da David, as da e luight er son dy bragh. He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.
